Postpartum Mood Disorders 101 w/CEUs


When: Sunday, February 25th from 10am to Noon

A 2-hour introductory workshop about postpartum mood disorders specifically for birth workers — doulas, lactation consultants, childbirth educators, etc. At the end of the workshop attendees will be able to:

  1. Define postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety and postpartum psychosis;
  2. List risk factors for the development of postpartum mood disorders;
  3. Learn to screen clients for the development of postpartum mood disorders;
  4. Describe appropriate treatments for women facing a postpartum mood disorder diagnosis;
  5. Identify community resources for women and families struggling with postpartum mood disorders.

This workshop has been approved for two contact hours by the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA). ICEA contact hours may transfer to the following organizations:

  • DONA International
  • Lamaze International
  • International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners
